Our role

AssetNest advertises assets and introduces interested people. We do not negotiate, conclude or manage sales or leases, and we do not act as an estate agent, broker, hotel operator or booking agent.

Land and property

Estate agents and brokers in Ghana must be licensed under the Real Estate Agency Act, 2020 (Act 1047). We may ask agents to give their licence details. Ownership of land is shown through records held by the Lands Commission, and buyers should always have a lawyer carry out a search and review the documents. Tenancy, rent, stamp duty, and planning and building permit rules from the relevant Assembly may also apply.

Hotels and guest houses

Hotels, guest houses and similar businesses should be registered or licensed with the Ghana Tourism Authority under the Ghana Tourism Authority Act, 2011 (Act 817), and registered as a business. We may ask for these details. AssetNest does not take bookings or payments for stays.

Vehicles

Vehicles should be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), and imported vehicles should have customs duty paid with the Ghana Revenue Authority. Buyers should check these before paying.

Equipment

Some equipment needs safety certificates, permits or licences to own, use or sell. Sellers should give these on request.

Digital assets

We allow listing of things such as websites, domains, software licences and online business accounts where the seller can lawfully transfer them. We do not allow cryptocurrency, securities or other financial instruments.
