How buying works here

You can browse listings or send an enquiry describing what you want. We may match you to sellers or to an inspector who can help. You then speak with the seller directly and agree the deal between yourselves. AssetNest is not a party to the deal, does not hold the money, and does not guarantee any asset. See our Terms of Use.

Checks to do before you pay

  • Seller identity. Ask to see ID and compare it with the name on the ownership documents. Treat a missing or reluctant seller with caution.
  • Ownership. For land and property, ask your own lawyer to search the title at the Lands Commission and confirm there are no disputes, charges or double sales. Visit the site in person or send a trusted representative.
  • Vehicles. Check the registration and the chassis and engine numbers against the papers with DVLA, and have a mechanic inspect the vehicle.
  • Equipment. Test it, check serial numbers and ask for invoices.
  • Digital assets. Confirm control of the account or domain, and use a reputable escrow service for the handover.
  • Hotels and guest houses. Ask for the business registration and Ghana Tourism Authority licence and check them with the authority.

An AssetNest inspector or badge helps, but it does not replace your own lawyer, surveyor or mechanic.

Paying safely

  • Pay only after inspection and checking documents, and ideally through a bank or a lawyer’s client account.
  • Pay to an account in the seller’s own verified name, get written receipts and a signed agreement.
  • Be wary of cash, gift cards, cryptocurrency, third-party payers and requests to hurry.
  • Be wary of a price that is far below the market.

AssetNest is not a payment service provider and cannot reverse or recover payments made between users.

How AssetNest will and won’t contact you

  • We contact you only from our official WhatsApp number +233 50 588 3766.
  • We will never ask for your mobile money PIN, one-time passwords or bank card details.
  • We take fees only through the payment details on our Fees page or confirmed by us in writing. If anyone claims to be AssetNest and asks you to pay another way, stop and report it.

If you are buying from abroad

Appoint a lawyer or a trusted representative in Ghana who acts for you, not for the seller. Do not send money based only on photos, videos or messages. Where a deal needs a power of attorney, use a lawyer to prepare and witness it.

Red flags

  • The seller will not meet, show documents or let you inspect.
  • Pressure to pay quickly, or a “last buyer” story.
  • Names on the documents differ from the seller’s name.
  • Requests to pay a person who is not the owner, or to pay AssetNest by a different method.
  • An agent who will not say whom they work for.

Your responsibilities

Send genuine enquiries, give accurate information and respect sellers and staff. You agree that we may share your enquiry details with sellers and inspectors who can help you. You can ask us to stop at any time.

If something goes wrong

Stop contact and payments, keep messages and receipts, and report the matter to us using the report form or WhatsApp +233 50 588 3766. If you have lost money, also report it to the Ghana Police Service. We will cooperate with lawful requests but cannot recover funds for you.
